One of the world’s leading providers of transport solutions, which include trucks, buses, and industrial and marine engines, was looking to improve its parcel management at its headquarters in Sweden. Its large campus, comprised of approximately 60 buildings and 20,000 employees, sees 100,000 parcels come through yearly. A team of 12 members make up the postal department that serves as the receiving and distribution centre for these parcels.
Tedious and unsecured delivery process wearing on employees
Each postal team member used to take 20,000 steps per day to hand-deliver parcels in person and at multiple drop-off points across the sizable campus. These drop-off points were unlocked and unmonitored, which didn’t allow for package tracking and gave rise to missing or stolen parcels.
