Boosting Efficiency While Serving Residents

The University of Houston is home to over 47,000 students. The overall goals of installing lockers were to increase efficiency, reduce staff time, and provide a better customer experience primarily to dormitory residents. Recognizing unpredictable student schedules, management wanted a self-service option that was accessible 24/7. Since smart lockers were deployed, the University noted that 33% of packages are retrieved outside of normal business hours. As Esmeralda Valdez, Executive Director of University Services highlights, the lockers increased its efficiency of resources to approximately 94%.

“The locker system itself has been a complete game-changer for our operations”
