LOS ANGELES, May 1, 2019 – Parcel Pending, the nation’s leading provider of innovative package management solutions, continues to expand its grocery team with the addition of Joe Szala as Vice President. Szala will be responsible for driving adoption of Parcel Pending’s Buy Online, Pick-Up In Locker™ (BOPIL) solutions in the grocery space.
“Joe is an excellent addition to our fast-growing Grocery team. He’s passionate about understanding the needs of grocery retailers and how technology-based solutions can help solve their pain points,” explained Lori A. Torres, CEO and Founder of Parcel Pending. “His background in customer loyalty, data and insights, and ecommerce for in-store pick up will greatly benefit our grocery team, and I’m excited for him to join.”
Szala comes to Parcel Pending with more than 20 years of retail and grocery experience under his belt. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Retail Business Development at Aimia and Vice President of Business Development Retail Partnerships for Aisle50, which was acquired by Groupon in 2015. He is skilled at building both well established and rapid-growth and entrepreneurial organizations.
“Online grocery shopping has been gaining in widespread popularity but some grocery retailers struggle with executing on this trend successfully,” stated Szala. “That’s where my role comes into play. I’ll be focusing on educating grocery retailers on how our BOPIL solutions can improve their click-and-collect process and improve their bottom line.”
