Quadient to Showcase Award-winning Drop Box Parcel Locker for Merchandise Returns at NRF 2024

January 8, 2024

Quadient (Euronext Paris: QDT), a leader in helping businesses create meaningful customer connections through digital and physical channels and a major global parcel locker operator, will showcase for the first time in the US its award-winning Drop Box Parcel Locker at the National Retail Federation’s NRF 2024: Retail’s Big Show, to be held in New York City on January 14-16. The Parcel Pending by Quadient Drop Box Locker with optional label printer is a self-service solution that offers a fast, convenient and environmentally responsible way for shoppers to return packages.

At Booth 1520, Quadient will display the Drop Box Locker, which streamlines and elevates the returns experience for both consumers and retailers, while maximizing operational efficiency for carriers. The Drop Box Locker recently won the “Last-Mile Delivery Innovation of the Year” 2023 Parcel and Postal Technology International Awards, announced at the Parcel & Post Expo in Amsterdam.

Retailers use the Drop Box Locker exclusively for their own customers’ returns or they can partner with Quadient to host lockers shared with carriers, reducing their investment and increasing foot traffic to stores. The introduction of the Drop Box Locker in the U.S. follows a successful launch in Europe. In 2023, international carrier Evri became the first to use the Drop Box Locker when it joined Quadient’s open locker network in the UK. Recently, Motor Fuel Group (MFG), one of the UK’s leading gas station and convenience store operators, as well as retail players Auchan and Galimmo announced the installation of Quadient open network parcel lockers at their stores.

“We’re excited to be showcasing the new Drop Box Locker at NRF 2024, which, when combined with Quadient’s advanced parcel management, monitoring and tracking platform, is a huge step forward for omnichannel retailers seeking to optimize returns management,” said Austin Maddox, executive vice president, North American Parcel Locker Solutions, Quadient. “The Drop Box Locker advances the use of parcel locker technology beyond simply buying online, picking up in store. In addition to improving returns management, retailers who offer same-day delivery can streamline operations and ease traffic at their counters by utilizing the parcel lockers. They can even create a fulfillment hub by opening up the lockers to multiple outside carriers, bringing new shoppers to their physical locations.”
