Holiday Shipping Best Practices

If you’re planning on sending or receiving holiday cards or gifts for Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or other holiday traditions, here are a few shipping best practices we recommend you follow this year (and every year):

1. Shop and Send Early

It’s certainly better to be safe than sorry – we all know how regular mail gets backed up because of the influx of holiday mail each year. To ensure your loved ones receive their holiday gifts on time, plan ahead – and try to give yourself an extra week for shipping (unless you want to pay for expedited service).

2. Consolidate Your Deliveries (When Possible)

To avoid losing items in transit, consolidate your deliveries whenever possible. For incoming deliveries, this can mean making one combined purchase from a retailer rather than several smaller ones or opting for slower shipping from retailers like Amazon so all your items arrive in one box. For outgoing items, this may mean sending several people’s gifts in a larger box rather than several smaller boxes.

3. Register for Parcel Pending

Registering for Parcel Pending allows you to make full use of the lockers (or package room) at your property and ensures your special holiday deliveries are protected.
