In 2026, in-unit and community technology will continue to shift from a premium amenity to an operational necessity. With 63% of Gen Z renters reporting that technology influences where they choose to live, digital integration is expected to play an even greater role in leasing decisions this year.1<\/sup><\/p>\n

Communities will increasingly adopt connected access systems, mobile-based communication platforms, and in-unit smart features that support flexibility and control. Rather than trying to combine disconnected tools, properties are expected to prioritize cohesive digital solutions that enhance convenience while maintaining operational consistency.<\/p>\n

Between 2024 and 2025, adoption of AI-generated marketing grew by 26%, and today 58% of property management companies report using AI in some capacity. Safewise estimates that 104 million packages were stolen nationwide last year, underscoring the scale of the issue.5<\/sup> Against that backdrop, 84% of residents with access to parcel lockers believe that they help prevent theft, reinforcing the growing importance of secure delivery solutions.6<\/sup><\/p>\n
