We recently returned from FlexOffice 2018, a conference hosted by NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, and the Global Workspace Association (GWA). The conference, which brings together a dynamic group of owners, operators and developers of office space to explore a diverse range of topics on cutting-edge office trends and technologies, took place in Austin from September 12-14.
\nAt the event, hundreds of attendees, ranging from real estate investment professionals, contractors that build office buildings and manage tenant improvements, owners of shared office space companies and vendors that sell into these verticals, all gathered to explore cutting-edge office trends and technologies.
\nIn addition, vendors that specialize in mail tracking, employee data base management, shared office space brokerage, office furniture, office software management and electronic parcel lockers exhibited their services and products.
\nFor the most part, attendees were primarily seeking new amenities that help make life easier for their tenants and employees. Electronic lockers, like those offered by Parcel Pending, piqued the interest of many attendees as they merge work and life. Many attendees loved how our lockers allow packages to be delivered to safely and securely without involving office staff or mailroom staff.
\nMoreover, the convenience of24\/7 pickup was also noted as being highly important for this group as their office staff is not available all of the time but their facilities are generally open 24\/7.
\nSome participants were also interested in lockers as a paid storage place for members to put computers and other personal materials in storage overnight.
