Parcel Pending\u2019s CEO, Lori Torres, is passionate about mentoring young professionals. One of the ways she does so is through her involvement with The Global Good Fund Fellowship<\/a>, a 12-month program that supports the leadership development of young social entrepreneurs across the globe by pairing them with executives who serve as coaches, and by providing leadership assessment resources, a network of peers, sector expertise, and targeted financial capital.
\nThe Global Good Fund Fellowship\u2019s network of mentors includes leaders like Ted Leonsis, Owner & CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, Tracy Fitzsimmons, President of Shenandoah University, Sami Inkinen, Co-Founder of Trulia, Lydia Thomas, former CEO of Noblis, and Pete Smith, CEO of Al Tayyar Energy.
\nRecently, Lori became the mentor of Veronika Scott, founder and CEO of The Empowerment Plan<\/a>, a Detroit based nonprofit organization focused on permanently elevating families from the generational cycle of homelessness, as part of The Global Good Fund Fellowship program.
\nAs Veronika\u2019s mentor, Lori will share valuable leadership insights, business and marketing guidance, encouragement and overall support over the next 12-months.
\n\u201cMy mentee is Veronika Scott, founder and CEO of The Empowerment Plan, a Detroit-based non-profit that hires single parents from local shelters and provides them with training and full-time employment as seamstresses so that they can earn a stable income, find secure housing, and regain their independence,\u201d explained Torres. \u201cI am excited and honored to serve as Veronika\u2019s mentor and look forward to helping her further her development as a social entrepreneur so that her non-profit can make a powerful impact on homelessness.\u201d
